Ever since I started my channel and writing this blog, I have been receiving multiple questions from prospective students, their kin, parents, or their friends. I can only speak from experience and from all that I have heard and discussed with my friends who made it abroad or to Germany for studies. Here are my tips if you want to study in Germany or anywhere abroad or even in your country.
1. Make a journal or have a document on your laptop where you can write down everything you want to do, everything you know, and want to know. This way you’ll have a clear structure that will help you have a clear strategy.
2. Make a strategy that you follow most of the time. Don’t just start anywhere randomly. See what all is needed to know about the country (or city) you want to go to, the university you wish to go to, the course you want to pursue, the fee structure, the budget, the time period, etc. Start broad and then dig deeper at one point after the other.
3. Write down your questions or doubts and categorize them accordingly ie. Make categories of who can answer which doubts. Most of your questions can be answered by searching the internet in the correct way. You simply need to ask the right questions and look for the correct websites. The rest of them can be clarified via sending emails to friends, family, or university personnel.
4. Don’t be over-ambitious as it can hit you hard and fog the reality. It is good to be ambitious and aim for better universities, universities that are everyone’s favorite. There must be a balance in the list of universities you want to apply to such that if some universities have rejected your application you can consider the ones that have accepted it. This saves you from wasting months and waiting for another semester to start applying.
5. Don’t listen to too many people and advice. Too many cooks spoil the broth and you can spoil your admission. Be a critical thinker and choose what suits you the best. Not everything suits everyone. Not every university is for you. Go for one that fits your course, your budget, and your interests.
