Hi, here are some amazing tips to learn German.

  1. The verb mostly comes in the second place (if there is only one verb in the sentence).
    • Ich esse. – I am eating.
    • Ich gehe. – I am going.
    • Ich trinke. – I am drinking.
    • Ich spiele. – I am playing.
    • Wir essen. – We are eating.
    • Wir kommen. – We are coming.
    • Du gehst. – You are going.
    • Ihr isst. You (all) are eating.
  2. If there are two verbs, the regular one will come in the second place and the other one will go in the end.
    • Ich habe gegessen. – I ate.
    • Du hast gekocht. – You cooked.
    • Du bist gegangen. – You left/went.
    • Ich bin gefahren. – I drove.
  3. The adjectives get modified depending upon their usage.
  4. German language combines two words and makes a new meaning out of it.
    • Wander + Lust = Wanderlust >> desire to travel
    • Haftpflicht + versicherung = Haftpflichtversicherung >> Liability (casualty) insurance
    • Freundschaft + beziehungen = Freundschaftsbeziehungen >> Bonds of friendship
  5. Verbs used for driving (fahren), going (gehen), and running (laufen) are all used with ‘bin’, ‘sind’ forms.
    • Ich bin gefahren. – I drove.
    • Du bist gelaufen. – You ran.
    • Wir sind gegangen. – We went.
    • Wir sind Heim gefahren. – We drove home.
