SCHOLARSHIPS for GERMANY

This has been one of the most awaited blogs of the last few years. As a prospective student, I have been always concerned about supporting myself financially. I knew I can do side/part-time jobs but scholarships are always better as they take away the extra hours off your shoulders that you put into a side/part-time job. In the time period from 2012-2015, I researched about:

a) Types of scholarships.
b) How and when do I apply for them?
c) How much money will I get monthly and so on?

Additionally, ever since I’ve started my YouTube channel and this blog, I often get emails about:

a) How can I apply for a scholarship to study in Germany?
b) What are different scholarships for Germany?
c) Can I apply from India for a scholarship?
d) …

So, finally, I re-researched about scholarships and decided to answer the types of scholarships you can apply to for study in Germany.

1. Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships

This scholarship is for any international student who wants to study bachelor’s, master or a Ph.D. in Germany. You receive roughly €700 a month and a flat study fee of €300.

2. Heinrich Boll Scholarships

3. The Deutschlandstipendium for German universities

5. Erasmus Scholarship Programs

This scholarship targets students aiming to pursue a full-time course in Germany. It offers international students financial aid for one year of exchange at universities in Germany. In order to check your eligibility, you can go through the list of Erasmus Mundus master courses in the Erasmus catalog.

There are many more scholarships like these for different fields of study and different levels of study courses to study in Germany. If you begin your research like this keep in mind the parameters like the field of study, how many euros you get monthly and for how long, what are the requisites, and so on.
