I cannot imagine how people go on vacations with their kids, I mean toddlers and not kids above 4 years old, and still maintain a clean place. I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s difficult hard work and a ton of stress.

We’ve come to Cres, Croatia, a tiny beautiful island famous for its history and buildings, to spend one week of summer 2022 with our dear kids. As excited as we could be as parents to 2 amazing kids, we weren’t aware, me for sure, of how messy it would be. From just leave everything as it is and make the kids sleep, to just go to the beach and damn we forgot the snacks, from “oh, we’ve come to the village for an ice cream but how to go back” to oppsiieee, I forgot food for the little one, this vacation gave us the true chills.

Needless to mention that we’re enjoying this vacation anyhow. I learned, like always it took a while, that when you go for a vacation with toddlers and infants you simply let go of the unnecessary hassle and go with the flow, or else you’ll find yourself in a bad situation more often than you can imagine. It’s similar to swimming against or with the tide. Against isn’t impossible but why would you do that when you can simply let yourself float and let the tide take you in’s direction.

A week of vacation seemed to have been the best time for me. It took me 2 days to get used to the place, people around, weather (humid warm), ocean, water, and so many other things. Now, after 5 days, I’ve seen a lot, made some friends, have made good memories (stressed as well), and learned a lot about how to do a vacation with kids. I’m glad we did this, as it didn’t only make us feel like parents (once again) but having other kids and parents around us gave me the surety that I’m not the only one who is suffering😉

Parenting is hard and tough, but so am I.
