Why Are Failures Essential?

By

We all know failures are a part of everyone’s lives. Irrespective of your age, gender, ethnicity, work-profile, education, lifestyle and every possible parameter that you can consider, failures are imminent and evident. We all have had failures and we all will have, countless of them, in the future. Its something that belongs to us, our life and our development. Before Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the very surface of the Moon, NASA went through multiple failed attempts delaying the project for months. Before J. K. Rowling published her first book, there were several rejections from publishers. Walt Disney, the name who made the life of both kids and adults full with imagination and joy was told that he lacked imagination.

Do failures result in fame? May be, may be not? That’s not the point, and never should be. Do failures result in success. Yes and no. Failures result in our success, success of our attempts, our efforts, our time and resources, and everything we put into to achieve something. However, they do not always are successful attempts. We might end up, even after thousands of trials, not being successful at something. But that’s OK. Not every attempt at something has to have positive results. Negative attempts are as good examples and experiences as positive results. Do failures teach us something? HELL YES! Our struggle doesn’t always result in good and expected outcomes, but it always teaches us something. Sometimes we learn patience, sometimes perseverance, sometimes acceptance, sometimes looking beyond the boundaries, sometimes satisfaction, sometimes all of these together and so many other things.

Failures make us the people we are. Our scars of the childhood, which we got while learning to cycle, run, walk or swim or anything new, shows us that we began doing something at such an early age and we’re now an expert at that. We started from scratch and we mastered those things now. Some others we couldn’t master, but that’s OK. We don’t have to know, learn and be able to do everything possible. We can try our best though. We are our failures. We are made by them. We learn from them and grow with them. We should keep trying to achieve many more new tasks, accepting the challenges they bring along and enjoy the lessons our failures teach us. They help us see and learn from our mistakes, not repeat them and make new ones. They bring the experience that no one can take away from us.

The best thing isn’t to get inspired, it isn’t inspiring anyone else either, it is inspiring your own self from the journey you’ve had in the past, so that you do your best in the present to have a surprising tomorrow.
